  • If you need to request a reimbursement for an activity, please review our cancellation terms below:

    • Full payment is required to confirm your spot in the residency or activity. Cancellations made at least 30 days in advance are eligible for a 50% refund, minus any applicable administrative costs.

    • Cancellations made within 30 days of the activity start date are non-refundable.

  • You can find us by clicking this link to our location pin, or simply entering “Can Silvestre, Riudarenes” into your GPS.

    By Car:
    Drive to the village of Riudarenes and then follow the signs towards l’Esparra. The road is paved most of the way, with the last kilometer on a dirt road that is accessible to all types of vehicles.

    By Public Transport:
    Take the R11 Rodalies train to Sils Station from either Barcelona or Girona (trains run approximately every hour). From Sils, you can arrange a private pick-up with us.

    For International Arrivals:
    Fly into Barcelona Airport. From there, you can either:

  • Can Silvestre documents the residency experience to reflect the life, work, and atmosphere of the program. This may include photographs, videos, or audio recordings of the space, artworks, and creative processes.

    Images may be used for non-commercial, institutional communication related exclusively to Can Silvestre. This includes our website, social media, newsletters, presentations, grant reporting, and other cultural or editorial contexts that communicate the residency’s activities and values.

    Portrait-style imagery, commissioned shoots, or content intended for commercial or personal branding use are explicitly excluded from the residency agreement.

  • Yes. All artworks produced during the residency remain the sole property of the artist. Can Silvestre does not claim ownership of any artworks and always credits the artist when work is shown or documented.

  • Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality. We recommend checking with your local embassy or consulate to confirm the latest entry regulations.

  • We strongly recommend that all residents arrange travel and health insurance for the duration of their stay at Can Silvestre. Insurance should cover medical care, personal belongings, and travel disruptions. Can Silvestre is not responsible for accidents, lost items, or travel delays.

  • If you’re sending your payment from outside the Eurozone, the easiest and most cost-effective way is through Wise (formerly TransferWise).

    You can open a Wise account in your local currency, transfer funds from your local bank to Wise, and then convert and send them instantly to a Euro account — including Can Silvestre’s bank account.

    This method usually offers better exchange rates and lower fees than traditional international bank transfers.

  • For safety reasons and to ensure the well-being of the animals that live on our property, dogs are not allowed. The farmhouse is currently home to other animals that require a calm and controlled environment, and the presence of dogs could disrupt this balance.
