Resident’s Welcome Guide

We’re so happy to welcome you to Can Silvestre! This page gathers all the essential information you’ll need during your stay so you can focus on what really matters: your creative work and enjoying the quiet beauty of this place.

  • Getting Here

    You can easily find us on Google Maps by searching “Can Silvestre, Riudarenes”. The last kilometer is a gravel road, accessible by any type of car. Keep an eye out for a wooden sign that says “Can Silvestre” hanging from a tree—that’s when you’ll know you’ve arrived. Residents can use our bikes to visit the village or explore the countryside.

  • Arrivals & Departures

    For international arrivals, fly into Barcelona Airport and either take the Sagalés bus to Girona Airport or the R2 train to Sants Station, then the R11 train to Sils. Our local taxi driver Toñi is available for transfers. Please message her in advance via WhatsApp at +34673818307 in advance to arrange pick-up (€15 from Sils station, €35 from Girona airport, or €40 from Girona station).

  • Stay Connected

    If you need to reach us, Ester is available at +34682033243. Please note that we normally don’t have mobile service at the house, but you can reach us easily via WhatsApp, as we always have Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi network is CanSilvestre and the password is cansilvestre2025, so you can get connected right away.

  • Room Service

    Your room comes with fresh bed linen and towels on arrival, and we provide room service every Monday morning. The shared bathroom is equipped with basic toiletries and a hair dryer, so you’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Room check-in is available between 2 PM and 9 PM, and check-out is before 10 AM.

  • Daily Essentials

    The nearby village offers all daily essentials. You’ll find a SPAR supermarket for groceries, El Rebost del Sindicat for fresh fruit and vegetables, the Serra Tornés bakery for bread and pastries, and a pharmacy. The village can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes, or in roughly 10 minutes by bicycle.

  • Materials & Supplies

    Residents can purchase and source materials from nearby providers. Bisbal Ceram offers a wide range of ceramics supplies, while L’Artística provides general art materials and tools. Orders can be placed directly with these suppliers and shipped to our address at Can Silvestre. We recommend ordering materials in advance to have them ready upon arrival.
